1 Administration Office Administration Office is the comprehensive management office of the School of Physics and Material Science, in charge of administration affairs of the School and affairs related to the Research Institute. It's mainly responsible for: 1. Administrative routines of the School, including internal and external communication and reception, personnel assessment, financial management, logistics support, security, etc.; 2. The drafting of various rules and regulations, annual work plans and final reports, and other official documents of the School, and the revision of the rules and regulations of the School; 3. The management  of the School's administrative documents (In receiving  official documents from the university authorities, the Office reads them first and then transmits them to relevant leaders  or offices of the School according to the content of the document); 4. The custody and use of the official seal of the School; 5. The tendering and procurement in the construction and development of the School; 6. Assisting leaders of the School in organizing and arranging various meetings; 7. Affairs related to the Research Institute. 2 Office of Academic Affairs The Office of Academic Affairs is in charge of the teaching affairs of the School of Physics and Material Science. It's mainly responsible for: 1. Devising a curriculum based on educational laws, revising the curriculum and adjusting the school timetable when necessary, compiling academic achievements, arranging  experiments, evaluating the quality of student learning, and other academic routines, to ensure the normal operation of teaching and other academic affairs; 2. The arrangement of the retake, make-up, and exemption of students' courses by the university authorities' orders; 3. Following the teaching schedule, arranging and managing various examinations such as mid-terms, finals, tests, and make-ups, and gathering students' grades and submitting them online; 4. Calculating the class hours of all teachers and submitting for approval the class fees at the end of each semester; 5. Handling reports and forms related to teaching affairs, sending and receiving academic documents on time, and ensuring proper storage and archiving of those documents. 3 Office of Disciplinary Development The Office of Disciplinary Development is in charge of the development of all disciplines in the School of Physics and Material Science and also in charge of the School's research planning. It's mainly responsible for: 1. Formulating the yearly plan and work summary for the development of disciplines and for the work of postgraduate affairs; 2. Connecting with the university's research management authorities, receiving and sending out scientific research information, arranging for the application, conducting the formal review of the proposals, and monitoring the research process, of various vertical research projects at all levels and the horizontal projects; 3. The approval, application, advertising, and archiving of academic lectures or the academic conferences undertaken by the School; 4. Connecting with the International Exchange Office, conducting the dissemination of relevant information and the collection, organization, and submission of relevant materials,  conducting  internationalization assessment; 5. The collection and evaluation of the statistics of the School's scientific research achievements, and the management of the rewards for the achievements; 6. Connecting with the Office of High-Level Talents of the Human Resources Department, assisting in the introduction, recruitment, evaluation, and assessment of various talents. 4 Office of Science and Research (plus postgraduate management) The Office of Science and Research is in charge of the research planning and the management of postgraduate affairs in the School of Physics and Material Science. It's mainly responsible for: 1. Postgraduate enrollment, re-examination, admission, graduation defense, and degree awarding. 2. Formulating and revising various graduate academic programs and curriculums, organizing the graduate thesis proposal meeting, and appointing graduate supervisors; 3. The evaluation and distribution of various awards and scholarships for graduate students; 4. The  management of the routine  affairs  as the  counselor of all postgraduates, including the management of graduate public studios. 5. The registration, organization, and archiving of materials and achievements of this office. 6. Updating and maintaining the contents related to disciplinary development and scientific research on the School's website, collecting promotional materials about the School. 7. 5 Office of Student Affairs (Employment and CYL Committee ) The Office of Student Affairs (Employment, CYL Committee) is in charge of the ideological and political education and the daily management of undergraduate student affairs in the School of Physics and Material Science. It's mainly responsible for: 1. Formulating yearly plans for and final reports on the work of the School's student affairs and CYL Committee; 2. Carrying out the ideological and political education on students, managing daily routines of student affairs, and providing guidance to students in terms of value orientations and the cultivation of a correct outlook on life, thinking methods, legal awareness and a good moral conduct, by implementing the Party's educational policy and focusing on the idea of quality education with moral education as the core and innovation spirit and practical ability as the key; 3. Conducting comprehensive assessments, excellence evaluation, and  reward / penalty judgement, and creating a studious atmosphere among students; 4. Affairs concerning student loans, tuition reduction, stipends, and work-study programs; 5. Handling various unexpected events among students, and conducting mental health education for undergraduate students; 6. Providing employment guidance and recommendations for the graduates of the School. 7. Supervising the student membership of the Party and CYL, guiding the activities of CYL with the party lines, training student cadres, organizing students in carrying out volunteer jobs and social practice activities. 8. The promotional activities of the School and the management of the School's online information, updating and maintaining various information on the college website, managing promotional media such as electronic displays in all buildings of the School, collecting and archiving important promotional materials from all works of the School; 9. Coordinating and cooperating with the Administration Office in their work related to student affairs; 10. Other tasks assigned by university authorities and the leaders of the School. 6 Basic Physics Experiment Center The Basic Physics Experiment Center is a national-level demonstration center for physics experiment education  and a base for science education recognized by Chinese Physical Society. It is in charge of all courses of basic physics experiment  in the whole university, as well as the experiments of physics majors, innovation competitions of physics, scientific research training, and the physics experiments in the course of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. It's mainly responsible for: 1. Planning and constructing a platform for physics experiment, establishing a properly functioning teaching system for physics experiment; 2. The development of physics experimental instruments, as well as the designing of physics experiment programs. 3. The management and maintenance of physical experimental instruments and equipment, and the purchase and management of experimental consumables and components, ensuring the smooth operation of experiments; 4. Conducting safety education for teachers and students in experiments, ensuring laboratory safety and hygiene, identifying and eliminating safety hazards promptly; 5. Participating in the construction of laboratory management systems, formulating and revising various rules and regulations of the center, and working to institutionalize and standardize various laboratory work. 6. Creating a safe and high-quality experimental space for all teachers and students in the university, with an open system of laboratory experiments; 7. Serving as a base for science education to primary and secondary school students, for cultivation of interests in science among young people; 8. The preparation for the second batch of Virtual Office of Teaching Research for university physics experiments recognized by the Ministry of Education, building a high-level platform of cooperation and exchange  for teaching research, teacher training, construction of experimental resources and cultivation of innovative practical talents for instructors of university physics experiments in the whole country.
